The Newick Pub and Club Quiz League was formed in 1985. We run quizzes every Tuesday evening from the New Year until around Easter. These are in a league format, with teams split into three divisions, and take place in one of the three pubs in the village. We also have three special quizzes every year that take place in the Sports Pavilion, which are open to all.
All the money that we raise goes to local charities. In the 2024 season, we raised over £1500 and donated £500 each to St Peter & St James Hospice, the Newick Distress Trust and the Lady Vernon Trust.

We raised £1400 during the course of the 2025 season, of which £200 has already been donated to Cancer Research. Our AGM will take place on Tuesday 22nd July at 7:30 pm at the Royal Oak. Each team is entitled to send a representative to elect the committee for the next season, and to decide which local good causes we will support with the remainder of the money we have raised.
